Research

AmonaTela is a personal practice or artistic project developed within the framework of the Doctoral Thesis project More Fabric, More Layers. It explores concepts such as DIY, digital fabrication and open-source approaches, reuse and sustainability, as well as craftsmanship and the transmission of artisan knowledge through fashion.

From 2008 to 2011, the city of Donostia/San Sebastian presented its candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture. Throughout different phases, a team of people who envisioned a city free from violence and a cultural project based on coexistence between different groups (cultures, origins, activities, ways of life) as a driving force for change developed a project grounded in the energy of the waves of citizen participation.

The exhibition explores a selection of the world’s most interesting libraries, from classical ones such as Alexandria or the British Library, to contemporary examples like Dokk1 Aarhus, Oodi Helsinki, and the Hyundai Card Libraries in Seoul, as well as proposals that go beyond the traditional concept of library, such as the Aby Warburg Library, the Mobile Public Libraries of Colombia, or the Human Library, composed of human “books.”
