Expanded Program

Topic. (Tolosa Puppet International Centre) is the Tolosa International Puppet Centre, inaugurated in 2009. It is the only comprehensive centre dedicated to the art of puppetry in Europe, conceived as a reference space for the creation, conservation, research and dissemination of puppet theatre.

During 2006, 2007, and 2008, an exhibition program was designed and developed for the Bastero Cultural Center in Andoain (Gipuzkoa) with the aim of bringing closer art practices more peripheral than what is called social art.

The exhibition explores a selection of the world’s most interesting libraries, from classical ones such as Alexandria or the British Library, to contemporary examples like Dokk1 Aarhus, Oodi Helsinki, and the Hyundai Card Libraries in Seoul, as well as proposals that go beyond the traditional concept of library, such as the Aby Warburg Library, the Mobile Public Libraries of Colombia, or the Human Library, composed of human “books.”
