Bastero Cultural Center. Exhibition program

During 2006, 2007, and 2008, an exhibition program was designed and developed for the Bastero Cultural Center in Andoain (Gipuzkoa) with the aim of bringing closer art practices more peripheral than what is called social art.

Bastero Cultural Center. Exhibition program

Different collectives and artists developed exhibitions with the premise of also intervening in the public space of the market adjacent to the cultural center and developing pedagogical practices in workshop and seminar formats with the municipality’s schools.

Ocugraph graphics went out to the street with a steamroller to print t-shirts, Piru brought graffiti practices to the hall and different urban spaces and furniture, the town coat of arms served for a participatory reinterpretation action by Saioa Olmo Alonso, Borja Uriona reinterpreted the traditional costume and local folklore, and in this way, part of the ARTELEKU ecosystem operating in the 2000s was incorporated into the local cultural scene.

The program ended with a celebration called PIK-NIK, setting up a field in the exhibition hall and inviting the population to enjoy the exhibition hall (recently inaugurated) as part of their landscape or natural environment.
