LUMAFest!
LumaFest! arises from the demand for a young literature festival (Young Literature-YA!) to expand the audience of the Koldo Mitxelena Kulturunea Library. A market research carried out by the specialist, writer, and literary critic Slawska Grabowska created the opportunity to formulate a festival-format project with Spanish literary novelties, local literary production in Basque, and international content to provide titles for the library space and a loyal audience that relates in a peculiar way both with the authors of this genre and with their literary creations.

Thus, LUMAfest! emerges, a 3-day meeting with signing spaces, workshops, and encounters with authors, developed informally, attending to the different ways in which readers use the spaces of cultural centers.
In addition, each poster is developed in a site-specific manner according to the topics and location to be addressed in each edition, inviting a female illustrator on each occasion. This commission responds to the importance that cover work and illustrations have in this genre, as well as to highlight a profession – illustration – that is highly feminized and precarious and to make visible the work behind each drawing.
